Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 7, 2026
This policy explains how Lensdrop uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and platform, in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the ePrivacy Directive, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), and other applicable privacy laws.
What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and understand how you use it.
Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
These are strictly necessary for Lensdrop to function. They cannot be disabled because the platform cannot work without them. No personal data is shared with third parties through these cookies. Under GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, these cookies do not require consent as they are essential for the service you have requested.
- Authentication and session — Keep you logged in and manage your session (e.g. Supabase auth cookies). They last for the duration of your session or until you sign out.
- Invite flow — When you click an invite link we store a temporary token (
lensdrop_invite_token) so you can complete sign-up after logging in. Stored for 24 hours. - Gallery PIN access — For events protected by a PIN, we store a signed session cookie (
gallery-session-{eventId}) after you enter the correct PIN, so you can view the gallery without re-entering it. Stored for 24 hours. - Cookie consent — Stores your cookie preference choices. Persists in local storage with no expiration.
Functional / Preference Cookies
These improve your experience but are not strictly required. We do not use them for advertising or third-party tracking.
- Referrer (
lensdrop_referrer) — When you sign up via a studio or referral link, we store the referrer so we can attribute onboarding correctly. Stored for 30 days. - Sidebar state (
sidebar_state) — Remembers whether the dashboard sidebar is expanded or collapsed. Stored for 7 days.
Analytics Cookies
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our site, like which pages are visited most and where users drop off. This helps us improve the experience. Vercel Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated usage data. These cookies are only activated with your explicit consent and can be turned off at any time using the preferences below. We do not use any advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Your Preferences
You can manage your cookie preferences here. Essential cookies are always active since they are necessary for the platform to work. Analytics cookies are optional, and you choose whether to allow them. You can change your preferences at any time.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, and India's DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Give or withdraw consent for optional cookies at any time
- Know what personal data is being collected and why
- Request correction or deletion of your personal data
- Access a summary of your personal data we process
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
We will never deny you access to Lensdrop for declining optional cookies. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it — just toggle the switch above.
How Long Are Cookies Stored
Authentication cookies last for the duration of your session or until you sign out. Invite and gallery PIN session cookies last 24 hours. The referrer cookie lasts 30 days and the sidebar preference cookie lasts 7 days. Analytics cookies are session-based and do not persist across browser sessions. Your cookie preference choice is stored in your browser's local storage and has no expiration.
